So, the day this blog began Henri and I decided to get our creative juices going by brunching at the Breakfast Club. After getting there a little later than planed for brunch (1.30) it was more a working lunch. We were mildly surprised to only have one couple in front of us in the queue. The queues over the weekend are legendary; I suppose the plus point of working in retail and having a day off in the week is that enjoy London's finest haunts when it's slightly less busy.
The cafe itself is everything you will have read: cosy, friendly and filled with momentos. For a place called the Breakfast Club they had just as good mains as breakfast dishes with a great selection of side dishes.
Having checked the menu online before we went we both knew we wanted a breakfast dish. Henri was craving waffles only to be disappointed that this "All-American" cafe didn't serve them. However, she was smitten with her order of french toast with cinnamon apples, so do not fret (though she gulfed them down so quickly I had no time to get a photograph)! I went for avocado on toast (and wow there was a hell of a lot of avaocado) with a poached egg, extra crispy bacon, a whole lot of chili and a side of fruit salad. And my god I was not disappointed (so happy and full that I did not eat dinner that evening)! The portions were more than generous, well cooked and very, very tasty.

My picture does not do this justice. I would definitely go again and maybe take my friends from back home as there is nothing like this there.
Bon appetite
